Effective for cough

I read that it is an analogue of the pharmacy ACC, an antioxidant amino acid that protects the lungs and respiratory system. It is used for various pulmonary diseases, including treating coronavirus. I bought it for our first aid kit, and it came in handy. As autumn arrived, both my 12-year-old child and I began to cough. We started taking 1 capsule twice daily. The cough subsided swiftly, but my chest was continually tickling. Then I realised it indicated insufficient moisture to clear phlegm, so I increased my water intake, and everything improved.

Phlegm reduction achieved

Life Extension's N-acetyl-L-cysteine, 600 mg, effectively removes phlegm and even promotes hair growth. I take two tablets daily; initially, I experienced coughing attacks as the phlegm began to clear. After a week, the cough vanished. Previously, I coughed after running or laughing, so I decided to eliminate the phlegm, and after a month of use, the cough was gone. The supplement met its goals successfully.

Versatile treatment

N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a staple in my medicine cabinet. It aids not only with chronic cough but also helps with allergies, rhinitis, and bronchitis. It normalises blood pressure and reduces cholesterol, whilst protecting the liver and lungs from harmful substances. Excellent quality too!
A chronic cough is defined as a persistent cough that lasts for more than eight weeks in adults and four weeks in children. Unlike an acute cough, which typically resolves within a few weeks and is often linked to temporary conditions like colds or the flu, a chronic cough can indicate an underlying health issue that may require medical attention. Common causes of chronic cough include asthma, allergies, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic bronchitis, or even environmental irritants such as smoke or pollution.
When dealing with a chronic cough, it's essential to evaluate the problem holistically. Observing patterns, accompanying symptoms, and any potential triggers can be instrumental in diagnosis. If you're experiencing a lingering cough, consulting a healthcare provider can help determine the root cause and the most effective treatment options, which may range from lifestyle adjustments and over-the-counter remedies to prescription medications or further diagnostic tests.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a modified form of the amino acid cysteine, known for its role as a powerful antioxidant and mucolytic agent. It has been widely used as a dietary supplement for various health benefits, including supporting respiratory health, detoxification, and enhancing overall immune function. NAC is particularly recognized for its ability to replenish glutathione, one of the body's most important antioxidants, which helps combat oxidative stress and protect cells from damage.
In addition to its antioxidant properties, N-Acetyl Cysteine is commonly leveraged in a clinical setting for its effectiveness in treating acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdoses, as it aids in restoring depleted glutathione levels, thus preventing liver damage. It can also be beneficial for individuals with chronic respiratory conditions, such as COPD or cystic fibrosis, as it helps in thinning mucus, making it easier to expel. While NAC is generally considered safe for most people, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, particularly for those with pre-existing conditions or those already on medication.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a supplement that is primarily known for its mucolytic properties, which means it can help break down mucus in the airways. For those suffering from chronic coughs associated with conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma, NAC has been suggested as a potential aid in reducing mucus viscosity, thereby making it easier to clear from the respiratory tract. Additionally, NAC is known to have antioxidant effects, which can contribute to overall lung health. However, the efficacy of NAC specifically for chronic cough varies among individuals and is not universally acknowledged as a primary treatment.
While there are studies indicating that NAC can help with mucus clearance, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, especially if used for chronic conditions. Other underlying factors contributing to a persistent cough, such as allergies, infections, or medical conditions, should be properly diagnosed and treated accordingly. Therefore, while NAC may offer some benefits for those with a chronic cough, it should be considered part of a broader treatment plan rather than a standalone solution.

I had tracheitis, and unfortunately, the nebulizer and Russian ACC did not help. I experienced a chronic cough for 2-3 months with lingering tracheitis. As winter approached, I urgently bought this drug, taking 2 capsules daily for a week and then 1 capsule daily for another week. Remarkably, within just two weeks, I cleared my trachea, and the cough and heaviness in my chest have disappeared. I do not smoke, nor have I ever smoked.

An essential supplement for illness. This much-needed NAC supplement, acetylcysteine, is an analogue of ACC. It has a mucolytic effect and facilitates sputum discharge. I used it alongside other medications for COVID treatment. A wonderful supplement, necessary for conditions like bronchitis, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic cough. I took two capsules for the first week in the morning and evening, then just in the morning for the next month.

I can’t determine if this drug alone helped or if it was a combination, but after three months of chronic cough, I started taking it and noticed a reduction in my coughing within a week, followed by a complete disappearance of the cough. I continued using it, and although my doctor prescribed an inhaler, I managed without it, possibly thanks to this drug.
